Another step in the process to get Saskatoon’s new central library built has been reached.
Tuesday is the deadline for the Saskatoon Public Library’s Request for Proposals for the design.
In a news release, the library says there will be a community engagement plan later this fall, which will outline the various ways the public can provide feedback.
SPL’s Board Chair, Brett Bradshaw says, “With the need for a new downtown library having been recognized for more than 2 decades, the Board is pleased to move forward and excited to see the economic and social benefits it will bring to our city.”
The new central library will be at 321 2nd Avenue North and is expected to open in 2026.
