In a new Leger Poll, 52 per cent of respondents said they would not let their children go trick or treating this year because of COVID-19. In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, 60 per cent said they would. On the question, will you open your door to hand out candy this year, 49 per cent no. 29 per cent they don’t usually participate anyway. In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, 39 per cent said year and 18 per cent said they don’t normally participate.
Should Halloween be cancelled? 52 per cent said yes. In our two provinces, 52 per cent said no.
As for thanksgiving, 40 per cent of respondents said they have or will change their plans this year. 20 per cent aid they don’t usually celebrate it anyway. In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, 46 per cent said no change and 11 per cent said they don’t celebrate it.
While eight per cent don’t mark the holiday season, 49 per cent say they have or will change plans this year. In Saskatchewan and Manitoba, 50 per cent said they aren’t making any changes. Eight per cent don’t celebrate.
