A Saskatoon man is facing 20 charges after refusing to stop for police. Around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday a Canine officer spotted a vehicle on Centennial Drive near Haviland Crescent that had been seen driving dangerously earlier in the evening.
A spike belt was deployed, successfully, in the 100 block of Confederation Drive but the vehicle still didn’t stop, travelling on damaged tires into an empty parking lot in the 200 block of Fairmont Drive where it was blocked by the Canine unit’s police cruiser.
A police service dog apprehended a suspect, trying to flee on foot, a short distance away.
Police say they seized a large sum of Canadian and American cash, some of which they have determined was counterfeit. An imitation firearm, ammunition, various identity documents, methamphetamine, fentanyl, dilaudid pills, meth pipes, a scale and various sizes of empty bags were also located.
A 30 year old Saskatoon man is facing numerous drug charges in addition to Possession of the Proceeds of Crime, Possession of Counterfeit Currency and Possession of Identity Documents.
