Saskatoon Police are requesting the public’s help to locate a man who has been charged with 2nd degree murder.
Investigators believe 30 year old Justin Troy Ballantyne may be in the Saskatoon area, but he is also known to have associations in the Prince Albert region.
He is 6-foot-1, 157 pounds.
Police believe he is armed, so they are advising he not be approached .
Ballantyne is wanted in connection to the investigation of a fatal shooting last Sunday at a business on the corner of Clarence Avenue and 8th Street.
Around 7:20 that morning, a 911 call came in and when emergency crews arrived, 22 year old Brandon Applegate was found laying in the road .
He was taken to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators believe the 2 men knew each other.
Mayoral candidate Charlie Clark posted on social media that it is a blow to the community to lose Brandon Applegate, “who was a courageous and articulate advocate for youth and for fixing the systems that are leading to too many youth ending up in gangs, incarcerated and with addictions.
