A Saskatoon Medical Health Officer is concerned with the increase of COVID-19 activity in the city.
Dr. Jasmine Hasselback says while there has been increases across the rest of the province, it is critical to refresh and re-commit to actions that will keep Saskatoon safe. She says when compared with counterparts across the country and even the world, the phenomenal extra efforts of which we all may be tired and exhausted of, has given us a more wonderful quality of life.
Dr. Hasselback says the concern in activity comes from too many new cases being unexpected or unexplained. She says there is a trend of new cases in the city that aren’t getting their chains of transmission contained and stamped out.
With the Thanksgiving weekend upcoming Hasselback says it’s time to take stock of what residents are doing, by reassessing their bubbles, monitoring physically distancing, to keep wearing masks and washing hands. She says without these commitments we aren’t going to be able to enjoy the benefits and re-openings we have seen recently.
