Bobbi Ehman is new to politics and has decided to throw her hat in the ring to run in Ward 3 which encompasses Kensington, Blairmore, Pacific Heights, Confederation, Fairhaven & Parkridge. The SLGA employee and resident of Ward 3 says she does not believe in defunding police and is concerned about the crime rate in Saskatoon. She suggests working with agencies that can handle calls to police which are not criminal in nature.
During the municipal election campaign we are featuring a different candidate each day leading up to election day on November 9th. The incumbent in Ward 3, Ann Iwanchuk is not running, so it is going to be a fresh slate for those residents.
Bobbi Ehman, who describes her self as someone who is strong willed and will always do what is right for her constituents, says her priorities going into the civic election campaign including trimming the city’s budget along with finding ways to keep property tax increases low. “With the unprecedented affects of the COVID pandemic combined with the uncertainty of the province’s economy, I feel that right now it’s most prudent to keep our spending at a bare minimum and possibly include a freeze on property tax increases until the pandemic is under control.”
