A 30 year old Saskatoon man has been charged with 2nd degree murder in connection to the homicide investigation of a 22 year old man found just before 7:30 last Sunday morning laying in the road at the intersection of Clarence Avenue South and 8th Street East.
Brandon Applegate was transported to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Mayoral candidate Charlie Clark later posted on social media that his death is a blow to the community.
He called him a courageous and articulate advocate for youth who was trying to fix the system that leads to too many youth ending up in gangs, incarcerated and with addictions.
Saskatoon Police say the 30 year old, who had a warrant for his arrest, was found at a home in the 200 block of Avenue L South Thursday night.
His first court appearance is Tuesday morning.
Investigators believe the shooting wasn’t random and that the 2 knew each other.
