The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority has declared a COVID-19 outbreak for Red Earth Cree Nation. Public health officials say there has been in increase in the number of confirmed cases and those who tested positive for COVID-19 were likely infectious when at a wedding event at Natimeek, Red Earth on October 9th.
Anyone who may have attended this event on October 9th should immediately self-isolate if they have had or currently have symptoms of COVID-19 and to call HealthLine 811 or their community health clinic to arrange for assessment and testing. All other individuals who are not experiencing symptoms should self-monitor for 14 days from the date of last exposure. It is important to note that individuals may develop symptoms from two to 14 days following exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19.
There is another, new list of potential locations for COVID-19 exposure in the province. It includes Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon. Public Health officials are advising individuals who were at these locations on the specified dates during the specified times to self-monitor for 14 days, and if you have had or develop symptoms of COVID-19, immediately self-isolate and call HealthLine 811, your physician or nurse practitioner to arrange for testing. Individuals may develop symptoms from two to 14 days following exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19.
