The University of Saskatchewan’s College of Dentistry has officially opened a seven-chair dental clinic on the USask Prince Albert campus. The clinic aims to improve access to care for what it calls, priority populations. Doctor Amrinderbir Singh will oversee the operation. He says the clinic is also about teaching students social responsibility and educating them in providing culturally appropriate care. The original plan was to open the clinic in stages but, because of a donation of over $1 million from dentalcorp, it was possible to open a finished clinic.
The clinic will be open year round, Monday through Friday.
Care will be provided primarily by licensed dental professionals who will also supervise treatment by students.
