A one-year-old Regina girl has succumbed to her injuries from alleged physical abuse.
The Regina Police Service says the toddler was transported by ambulance to hospital on October 7th and died two days later.
Before her death, a 20 year old man was charged with aggravated assault, but the Police Service says the baby’s death has changed the investigation.
The Regina Children’s Justice Centre which is made up of police, child protection workers, child abuse physicians and the Crown Prosecutor’s Office, along with the Major Crimes Unit have been working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the Crown to determine the appropriate next steps.
Bailey Peepeetch appeared in court on Thursday and has been remanded to his next court date on the 20th.
