Sarina Gersher says the unprecedented challenges from the pandemic reinforce the need to build strong communities.
Her three main priorities are improving safety by ensuring neighbourhoods are well maintained including roads and sidewalks, strengthening the economy by harnessing the expertise of local businesses and organizations, and engaging with residents.
She has lived in Ward 8 for 30 years and believes her best advantage in this election is her experience and her record on Council in the last 4 years and her volunteering efforts. Gersher says in the last 4 years Council has been able to accomplish lots of the goals set out for Ward 8 and for the City. She lists improving safety through neighbourhood traffic reviews in Briarwood, College Park and East College Park and supporting public green spaces through stable funding to Meewasin Valley Authority, Wanuskewin and neighbourhood parks as a few examples.
