Janine Lazaro is running for city council in Ward 3, and has worked has a health care worker with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) for the past 18 years. If elected, she says she would put time and effort in so no one will fall behind after the pandemic. Lazaro says she will look at ways to make Saskatoon more attractive to businesses, enhancing employment and opportunities for residents.
Lazaro says she is running because she believes the city needs change. Being a person from a minority group, she understands the importance of integrating discussion of race and ethnicity into policies. She is also bilingual, and believes this will be an asset to communicate with the Filipino community on city issues.
Lazaro believes that an investment in solar panels within the city can help create construction jobs and help fight climate change. She would like to promote Saskatoon as a family friendly city that welcomes and encourages diversity.
Lazaro says everyone in Ward 3 deserves someone who is willing and ready to listen to them, not only during an election, but for the next 4 years, to prioritize what truly matters.
