Cynthia Block is the incumbent in Ward 6 and says she has been focusing on the basics the last four years and she perceives the next 4 years as building on that foundation.
Block says with unprecedented infrastructure investments the last four years she is proud of what they have been able to do in Ward 6. With work on roads, sidewalks, under ground pipes and flood mitigation strategies, she says things are moving forward.
Block has lived in Ward 6 for more than 25 years and says it has been a privilege to live there and represent the area. She suggests she has been a full time city councilor the past four years as she finds it extremely important to be available and engaged for residents. Block believes in working with residents and other community stakeholders to build a more modern, progressive and sustainable city.
Block says as the city’s density grows on the outskirts, she would like to see that growth give back by helping to invest in historic neighbourhoods. She wants to see evidence and data driven decision making in city hall. Block also believes a critical factor in future success is driving economic and residential development downtown, to see the heart of the city thrive.
