Mairin Loewen has represented Ward 7 since 2011 and says she wants to continue her work to increase neighbourhood accessibility and improve pedestrian linkages. Loewen has supported the rehabilitation of over 61 lane kilometres of road in the Ward over the past 4 years.
Her priorities include reaching the greenhouse gas emissions targets, improving access to high-quality public services and finding efficiencies in City operations. Loewen points to the Fusion Project as an example, which is projected to save over $40-million in its first six years. It brings all of City Administration under one database rather than the over 700 systems in place right now. She says she will keep pushing for greater efficiencies that will improve services, save money and keep taxes affordable. Loewen notes that in 2020, City Council approved the lowest tax increases in a decade.
Loewen lives in Ward 7 and her professional background is in public policy.
