Lee Kormish describes himself as a hard working business person who wants to make the downtown area a more desirable space for residents and businesses. Kormish says when residents invite visitors to see the sights, it’s to see the riverbank and not the downtown core.
He would like to be a part of changing that, to make the downtown area more active.
Kormish suggests the Lighthouse is the biggest topic of the election. His vision is for an expanded Lighthouse outside of the downtown area, because it has outgrown its current home on 20th Street.
He believes a zero per cent property tax increase could be a reality in 2021, if new innovative ways to raise revenue are utilized instead of further penalizing residents. Kormish is on side with a new arena and convention centre in the downtown area, but only if residents won’t be taxed for it.
