Mark Zielke is one of Saskatoon’s six mayoral candidates. He believes the Lighthouse is overcrowded and would like to see it divided into 5 different locations outside of downtown, making sure the city supports those that use this service, providing emergency shelter, supported living and affordable housing to those in need. Also in the downtown area, he would like the bus mall moved away from 2nd Avenue.
Zielke would like all of the city’s mega projects put on pause until the economy improves, and he believes an independent audit needs to be done in every city department to find savings rather than raising taxes. Zielke is an entrepreneur who considers himself an advocate in the community.
