The consumer price index held steady in Saskatchewan in September. Nationally there was a drop of 0.1 per cent. Compared to September a year ago, inflation here rose 0.8 per cent and 0.5 per cent nationally.
In Saskatoon, the CPI rose 1 per cent year to year and 0.1 per cent month to month. Regina rose 0.9 per cent year to year and 0.1 per cent month to month.
Statistics Canada says that, when you exclude gasoline, the CPI rose nationally one per cent in September. Year over year, prices rose in six of the eight major components.
