On Wednesday, Regina police were told of an intoxicated man with a knife on Prince of Wales Street, who appeared to be having a hard time walking. The man was found, stumbling through parking lots. He fell and was struggling to get back up when an officer tried to help him. Police allege the man then took out a knife and charged at the officer. The officer backed away and told the man to drop the knife but police say he didn’t comply. Police say he was yelling at the officer to shoot him. He then turned the knife on himself. A taser was used and the man was taken into custody. No one was hurt. 22 year old Edward Ross of Saskatoon faces charges of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Assault of a Police Officer with a Weapon.
