It was another record breaking October day for cold weather. Environment Canada says Friday morning, Saskatoon set a new record of -16.7 beating out the old record of -16.1 set in 1917.
A couple of other 100 year old, or more, records were broken for overnight lows including Maple Creek which dropped to -15.9 degrees. The prior record was -15.0 set in 1917. Eastend broke it’s 1919 record when the mercury dipped to -18.5 which was the same year a record was last set in Moose Jaw for overnight lows. It was also broken when the temperature dropped to -15.6 degrees.
North Battleford tied it’s old record set in 1991 when the temperature dropped to -14.6 degrees. Records in the area have been kept since 1879.
