Not to create confusion, with the provincial election just a few days away, but the City of Saskatoon is requesting, with a larger than expected response for mail in ballot applications that the public consider all options available including voting in person at advance polls and in person on election day.
The advance poll is from October 30th – next Friday – to November 5th. Municipal election day is November 9th. Returning officer Scott Bastian says they had planned for an increase in mail-in ballot applications, however, they have seen a three fold increase in requests for mail in ballots.
Bastian says they are making the request for in-person voting to allow processing of the mail-in ballot applications they’ve received to date, and to continue to manage the applications that have yet to come in.
If you’ve submitted your mail in ballot and receive that ballot on or after November 2nd, you need to plan to return the ballot in person at the Election Office.
If you’re voting on Election Day November 9th, confirm your ward and voting location at saskatoon.ca/mypoll before going to vote.
