Elizabeth Fay, is running for city council in Ward 3.
Fay says one of her priorities is to keep taxes at zero percent for the next four years, especially during the pandemic. She wants to make sure people have more money in their pockets, and believes the city needs to construct a budget and stay with it.
Fay’s views on the new library is that the city is spending $190 million that it doesn’t have. She suggests with more people online a $2 million face lift, money she says is already available to work with, is the better idea.
Fay would also like to find a way to make the community and schools better for children, including trying to find a way to decrease class sizes in the city. In Ward 3, Fay would make sure the closure of Clancy and Laurier Drives, does not happen. She says congestion in the area would become horrendous. Fay explains she has talked to a lot of people in her ward who are concerned about recent vandalism, including car windows being shot out. Fay would like to find ways to make the streets safer for residents.
Fay says Saskatoon needs to support our local people and keep our people employed. She suggests she would be a strong voice in city hall and bring common sense to the table.
