Sunday is the last Sunday of the month and it’s also the first ‘Last Sunday’ of the season for Sum Theatre.
This is the fourth annual season for The Last Sunday shows, which take their cue from whatever is happening in the news that month, for instance this month could include the provincial and civic elections, the global pandemic and race relations.
Sum Theatre’s Krystle Pederson says there is never a shortage of material for their monthly shows which include live performances, music, a rant and a hot seat interview to help process world events.
The Last Sunday is every last Sunday of the month through May at Broadway Theatre, but also online, and either way, it’s free.
Pederson says all safety protocols are in place at Broadway Theatre and because of the limit of the number of people who can attend, it’s an advantage to have it online, and also because it means the audience can join in from anywhere.
Sum Theatre is also partnering with local theatre companies in Prince Albert, Swift Current, The Battlefords and a new Sum Theatre expansion in Regina to expand performance and collaboration possibilities.
