The Saskatoon Police Service has its first COVID-19 case to report among its ranks.

S-P-S Administration announced Thursday that a sworn member of the police service, in an administrative capacity, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Due to privacy reasons, no further information as to who the person is will be given. However, due to their position and limited contact with front line members of the police service, it’s not believed the individual contracted COVID-19 from anyone in the workplace. The Saskatoon Police Service is working closely with Public Health Officials to provide deep cleaning of any areas the officer may have been in and any necessary contact tracing.
