In order to keep everyone in Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities and care homes safe during this time of rising cases of COVID-19, family presence and visitation will continue to be limited to compassionate reasons only in all Saskatoon facilities and affiliate buildings.
The restrictions were reassessed by the SHA on Tuesday and will be assessed again by late afternoon next Tuesday and every Tuesday thereafter.
The SHA says the decision to restrict family presence is not taken lightly.
Compassionate care reasons could include, but aren’t limited to family or support persons during end-of-life care, major surgery, intensive and critical care, maternal or pediatrics, long-term care residents whose quality of life or care needs are unmet or those inpatients and outpatients with specific challenges.
