Saskatoon Police say two men suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in separate stabbings around 6:30 Tuesday evening. Both men were stabbed in an apartment building on the 800 block of 20th Street West. Medavie Health Services transported the victims to hospital.
About six hours later, police were back in the building after someone reported being approached by a man who claimed to have stabbed two people earlier. The unknown man also allegedly threatened to harm this individual, too. The person was not injured and the suspect fled on foot.
Police located a man sleeping in front of the building. He matched the suspect description and officers arrested him. He refused to provide his name and was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine. A modified knife was allegedly found in his backpack and police say there was blood on his clothing.
A 26-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Obstruction, and Breach of Probation. Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
