There was a fatal accident Wednesday morning in south Regina where a pedestrian crossing Albert Street was hit by an excavator, which is a large earth-moving vehicle. That from the Regina Police Service which reports a 21 year old woman was confirmed dead by EMS.
Officers were told the excavator carried on for some distance and it is believed the driver was unaware of what happened. Police located the driver a short time later. The vehicle is owned by the City of Regina and was being driven by a city employee.
The woman’s name is not being released and police are continuing the investigation in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
