A man charged with first degree murder in connection to the shooting death of 25 year old Andrew Merasty in 2019, has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of Manslaughter. Craig Gladue, 20 years old, was also sentenced Tuesday, in addition to the Manslaughter charge, for Robbery and Assault with a Weapon. Gladue was sentenced to 9 years, 7 months, in total, to be served in a federal penitentiary.
On August 18, 2019, Saskatoon Police were called to the 1800 block of 20th Street West for reports of an injured man. They found Andrew Merasty who was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
