Two people from Regina are facing charges after Saskatoon Police spotted a stolen vehicle around 11:40 last night (wed). Police say they conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Avenue O North but the driver sped off. The vehicle hit a parked car and stopped in an alley on the 500 block of T North. The driver and his female passenger fled. She was quickly arrested. He was tracked down by a police Canine Unit and arrested in a back yard on the 600 block of T North. The 25 year old had to be taken to hospital to be treated for a dog bit.
Officers allege finding a sawed off shotgun in the vehicle, and meth and a knife on the 21 year old woman. She is facing drug, weapons, and Possession of Stolen Property charges.
The man is facing firearms-related charges along with Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Driving While Prohibited, Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident, and Possession of Stolen Property. The two are also charged with Breach of Release and Breach of Probation.
