One man is in custody following a police chase on Friday night.
Saskatoon Police say they were called to the 700 block of Baltzan Crescent at 8:57 p.m. for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When police arrived a vehicle was observed quickly leaving the area and when they followed and attempted to pull it over, police report the suspect fled the area. The Air Support Unit was able to observe the vehicle and follow it to an address in Erindale, at which point patrol vehicles were able to locate the vehicle and driver and affect an arrest.
A 54 year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges of Dangerous Driving, Evade Police and Criminal Harassment. He will see a Justice of the Peace on Saturday morning.
Then later that night Saskatoon Police were called to the 800 block of 22 Street West for a robbery with a weapon. A man allegedly approached another man and demanded his property. The suspect was said to be brandishing bear spray. The suspect fled with the victim’s keys and no injuries were reported.
The Air Support Unit along with K9 were able to locate a 20 year-old male suspect. He is facing charges of Robbery with a weapon, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, possessing a controlled drug and four counts of failing to comply with release documents. He will see a Justice of the Peace on Saturday.
