Yorkton RCMP are warning drivers of freezing rain that has been falling on Yorkton since Saturday night and is now accumulating on the roads. RCMP say roads are now covered with black ice, making the roads appear normal but the roads are in fact extremely slippery.

Black ice is being reported as affecting the entire city and surrounding areas. RCMP are asking residents to exercise extreme caution. Do not travel unless you need to and if you have to travel, be cautious and drive especially slowly. Dangerous road conditions could delay police response and emergency services.
