The Prime Minister noted Remembrance Day services are virtual for the most part in Canada this year and the legions are facing tough times. The Government of Canada is providing 20 million dollars to create the new Veterans Organizations Emergency Support Fund. Over 17 million will go to the Royal Canadian Legion, Anavets, True Patriot Love and Vets Canada with the remainder available by application from other veteran organizations.
You can still watch a Saskatchewan Remembrance Day service but it just won’t be live. Brent Wigness, chair of the Citizens Committee for Remembrance Day, says there can’t be a physical service due to public health protocols amidst the pandemic. They video taped a service which will air on Shaw Cable at 10:30 a.m. November 11th and it will also be available on saskatoonremembers.ca
