Premier Scott Moe says new case numbers on Saturday are very concerning.
With 439 cases reported Saturday, Moe says the province’s seven-day average for new cases is now at 203, which is the highest it has ever been.
The Premier states while it’s too soon for the new measures implemented last week to have made an impact, the government is continuing to evaluate the situation closely and will consider further measures. He says they are working closely with Dr. Shahab and public health officials and will have more to say early next week.
In a written statement Moe says, “let’s all do our part to keep ourselves and those around us safe.” He recommends reducing your number of contacts and your activity outside the home. Moe adds if you do go out, wear a mask, and reminded this is now required in all indoor public places, everywhere in Saskatchewan. He asked residents to physically distance, wash your hands often and stay home when you can. The Premier concluded by saying “we can keep ourselves and those around us safe and reduce the spread of COVID-19 by taking these steps.”
