The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre had already sent out notification it was closing for a few more days as it worked through having staff tested for COVID-19. They had three positive cases of COVID-19 identified in their workplace and announced Monday it was closing.
The Food Bank says it has been notified by the Saskatchewan Health Authority that the COVID-19 cases at their facility are now declared an outbreak. The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre will remain closed Wednesday and Thursday and officials there say an outbreak is not necessarily an indicator of risk to the public. The Food Bank is monitoring the situation closely, in conjunction with health authorities.
The executive director says the organization has undergone sanitization measures and staff – all staff – are being tested.
