Statistics Canada says, sales in the food services and drinking places subsector were up nearly 2 per cent in September. All provinces reported increases, with Ontario seeing the largest spike at 2.2 per cent, in dollar terms. In percentage terms, Saskatchewan sales were up 4.5 per cent which was third highest of the provinces. Compared to September a year ago though, sales nationally were down about 20 per cent. In Saskatchewan, sales were down 4.6 per cent. That was the smallest drop of the provinces.
