Naomi Hunter, leader of the Saskatchewan Green Party says Saskatchewan has suffered nearly a death a day due to addictions in 2020. She says they are record-breaking stats. Hunter is demanding the Sask. Party government show leadership by fully supporting safe injection sites and re-opening the beds closed under their watch. Hunter says the government has closed more than six thousand mental health beds while the addiction numbers have steadily climbed. Hunter says, “It would sure help if we had a government that puts money into addictions and treatment centres and long-term rehab centres. And, we need a compassionate government that looks at the underlying issues too such as poverty, discrimination and injustice.”
