The Saskatchewan Federation of Labour believes the province should be spending more of the money given by the federal government for its essential workers.
SFL President Lori Johb says the province has spent just over half of the 120 million dollars given by the federal government, according to information originally obtained by the Alberta Federation of Labour.
She says that’s the second-lowest among the provinces and territories. She says other provinces have used 100 per cent of the allocations to go to these workers.
The SFL says three Saskatchewan unions representing health care workers have started a petition calling on the province to provide a wage top-up for all health care workers.
