A 28-year-old man is in custody, charged with robbery and using a firearm to commit a robbery, following an incident at a downtown apartment block on Tuesday.
At about 9-45 a.m., Saskatoon Police responded to a call to an apartment building in the 100 block of 25th Street West where initial reports had numerous people entering a suite with a sawed-off shot-gun and attempted to rob a tenant of their phone. The suspects were unsuccessful and the victim was unharmed. The victim and suspects are believed to be known to each other. Patrol officers arrested the 28-year-old man close by, a short time later, without incident. Anyone with information regarding the attempted robbery is asked to call the Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
