Premier Scott Moe insists he isn’t giving anyone a false sense of hope when it comes to loosening restrictions for public gatherings in time for Christmas.
Moe says at the end of the day, the decision will fall on the provincial chief medical health officer.
He says a decision will be coming later this month, but it helps a lot if people adhere to the guidelines that have been set out by Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab…
NDP leader Ryan Meili says Moe needs to be honest and that many should prepare themselves for the harsh reality that they won’t be spending Christmas with their families.
Meili is concerned over what he sees as a lack of action from the government on COVID-19.
He says Premier Moe just can’t see that the plan he has is not the right one. He says at this rate, the only thing that will be opening at Christmas is a field hospital.
Meili says if Moe was serious about restrictions being loosened for family gatherings in time for Christmas, he should have listened to the free advice given to him by medical professionals across the province.
