Health Minister Paul Merriman said he was “extremely disappointed” by a government social media post on Tuesday for World Aids Day, that’s being interpreted as homophobic.
The image showed 2 men standing side by side with the words “HIV is on the rise in Saskatchewan” along with “It’s Treatable. Get Tested.”
It was later taken down.
Merriman says that’s not the message this government or the ministers of health and rural and remote health want to portray.
NDP leader Ryan Meili said it was “very inappropriate” by the government to use the photo, but he was glad there was an apology afterwards.
