A 40-year-old man will appear in court Monday after a Thursday evening incident at a Meadow Lake apartment complex.

Forty-year-old David McKay of Meadow Lake faces five charges after being arrested by R-C-M-P for barricading himself in a suite on 7th Avenue West. With outstanding warrants on serious charges, McKay locked himself in a room at abut 9:30 p.m., advising police he had a firearm. McKay continued retreating from the R-C-M-P, breaking into several rooms to evade police. The area was secured by Meadow Lake R-C-M-P, with help from the Loon Lake and Green Lake detachments, before eventually entering the room he was in and arresting him without incident. No firearms were found.
