You can be a Writing Ninja and help brighten a seniors day with a new virtual letter campaign from the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
Heather Turcotte with the SHA says The Writing Ninja’s Virtual Letter campaign was started due to COVID-19 causing senior’s complexes and long term homes to be on lockdown, and they are inviting people to email letters to them.
Turcotte says currently the campaign is just one way communication, and have received letters talking about people’s families, hobbies, even pictures of artwork and jokes.
At this point the letters will primarily be delivered to residents in Tisdale and Hudson Bay, but Turcotte says there is potential for growth.
Turcotte says the plan is to gather a collection of letters to deliver at one time, and she hopes with seniors not getting to see families during the pandemic, it will brighten their day.
