Saskatchewan’s Crime Watch Advisory Network has been expanded to include municipal police services and conservation officers. The Network was created as a tool for increased policing in rural areas.
It allows police to issue advisories to residents via text messages, emails or phone calls about a criminal activity in their area. Of the seven entities which have been added, Prince Albert, Corman Park and Dalmeny Police Services are now part of the network.
The Government of Saskatchewan provides $50,000 every year for the RCMP to operate the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network.
