Ottawa says Canada will receive just under a quarter-million COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer before the month is over and that those vaccines will be shipped out to the provinces quickly.
With the doses coming on a per capita basis, it means Saskatchewan will see enough vaccines for around four thousand people with each person needing two shots.
The province’s roll-out plan will be announced Tuesday. Premier Scott Moe says those who need them the most will be first in line. He says phase one will see health care workers vaccinated as well as the most vulnerable, including long term care residents.
NDP leader Ryan Meili says when the information is given, the messaging must be clear. He says the main message is: Get vaccinated. Protect yourself. Protect others. He says its the message that should have been delivered by the Moe government on masks.
