The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority has launched SERT which stands for Saskatoon Economic Recovery Tracker.
And according to SREDA the Saskatoon Region economy is 48.2 per cent recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels. SREDA President and CEO Alex Fallon says SERT will shine the light on areas which need support in order to get back to pre-COVID-19 levels.
By their estimation, the provincial GDP is 27.4 per cent recovered, The employment in the region is 70.9 per cent recovered, the construction sector is 56.1 per cent recovered. Hotel occupancy is at 58.8 per cent, airport passenger traffic is at 18.7 per cent and active businesses are 22.4 per cent recovered.
The Saskatoon Economic Recovery Tracker compiles information from Statistics Canada, Conference Board of Canada, the International Monetary Fund and industry associations.
