Residents in the 400 block of Avenue R South may have noticed a continued police presence as detectives with the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime section investigates the death of a 14 year old.

Police now say several, armed people, tried to force their way into a home on that block around 7:30 p.m. on Monday. It is believed a fight ensued between the occupants of the home and with those involved in breaking in. A 14 year old suspect was injured and taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy was conducted however the cause of death is not being released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatoon Police or Crime Stoppers.
