After a deep clean at St. Augustine School in Saskatoon, there will be some staff there and teachers might decide to teach their online classes from their classrooms but for students, the school is closed. The Saskatchewan Health Authority informed Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools of a positive COVID-19 case in an individual at St. Augustine School, St. Joseph High School and Bishop James Mahoney High School. Affected cohorts at St. Joseph and BJM will switch to online instruction today. Because there are a number of classrooms affected by recent positive cases at St. Augustine all classrooms in the school will switch to online instruction starting December 9th. Students will return to in school instruction after Christmas break, in the New Year.
In Saskatoon Public Schools the Saskatchewan Health Authority has declared an outbreak at Ecole Forest Grove School. Classes at the school will continue as scheduled. The division says Ecole Forest Grove School has had one positive case of COVID-19. One classroom was closed due to an isolation order but has since reopened. Since the beginning of the school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has had 127 positive cases at 41 locations in the division.
