Canada Post has adjusted its holiday parcel shipping deadlines citing unprecedented demand. The national postal service is asking Canadians to ship and shop this week to help them safely process and deliver the pre-Christmas surge. Canada Post says Canadians are shopping online in record numbers as well as having residents ship presents in lieu of a traditional holiday visit.
Canada Post says it has added more than 4,000 seasonal employees, increased its fleet by more than a thousand vehicles and this past weekend delivered approximately 1.2 million parcels across the country. They expect heavy deliveries to continue this week and next.
If you’re shipping local you have till Friday. If it is for regional delivery the recommended time frame is between today and Wednesday for regular parcel but a little later if you are willing to pay more, and nationally there is some variance in dates but the regular parcel shipping deadline is tomorrow if it is going to have some chance of arriving by Christmas Day.
