SaskPower say it has entered into two power purchase agreements for two, 10 megawatt solar projects involving the First Nations Power Authority. The projects will be located near Weyburn and Regina. They are expected to generate enough power to meet the needs of more than 5,000 homes. Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskPower says, adding more utility-scale solar will help SaskPower meet its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 per cent from 2005 levels by 2030. Construction timing for the projects has yet to be worked out.
