The Saskatchewan Hockey Association’s Board of Directors has decided to cancel their 2021 provincial playoffs and carded team programs…citing the uncertainty with the province’s COVID-19 situation.

The Board felt they couldn’t hold separate competitions within the pandemic uncertainty. The S-H-A says teams who have entered these competitions will be refunded in a timely manner. The S-H-A adds the decision was not an easy one with their focus right now being to simply get everyone back to playing games in a League environment to salvage the season, adding that right now they are fortunate to be able to have minor hockey teams practice when compared to the situations in Manitoba and Alberta where hockey is not allowed to play or practice in any fashion.
