Retail sales in October in Saskatchewan rose about 1.2 per cent from the month before. Nationally, sales were up only 0.4 per cent. Statistics Canada says it was the sixth consecutive monthly increase since the record decline in April. Sales growth was led by motor vehicles and parts dealers. Sales were up in seven provinces. Compared to the same month a year ago, sales in Saskatchewan were up 4.7 per cent. That put us in the middle of the pack of provinces. The national average was a rise of 7.5 per cent. Total value of sales in October in Saskatchewan rang in at about $1.7 billion.
